What will you do?

YourSurprise has experienced impressive growth in recent years, with our processes changing faster than our software could keep up. Your role is crucial, as you will be working on optimizing processes by means of software.

A concrete example of a project you will focus on is splitting our orders during the day into small batches. This so that we can soon produce as many as 100,000 gifts on our busiest day instead of the 40,000 gifts we are achieving this year. This expected growth requires robust and smart systems that can not only handle large volumes of orders, goods and invoices, but also help keep everything structured. For this, you will work closely with a team of developers, a product owner and our business analysts. Together, you build powerful software (solutions) that can support our growth.

Because you work for YourSurprise itself, it is not about being billable every hour, but about investing in a good solution that is also maintainable in the long term.

Who are you?

• You are an inquisitive and motivated developer with at least an HBO working and thinking level and at least 5 years of demonstrable experience in Software Development. Also important is:

• You have experience writing easily readable and maintainable code with PHP;

• You are capable of (unit) testing and static analysis of code;

• You are good at structuring complex projects;

• You have experience with Cloud services, such as Google Cloud;

• You are able to develop APIs that can be used in multiple places;

• You enjoy thinking about technical solutions to improve business processes.
